Personal training
One coach. One client. One programme.
No classes, no whiteboard, and no session that everybody in the room runs at once. You are assessed by Jeff, matched to a coach, and given a programme written from your own health status and your own goals.

How it runs
Three things happen, in this order
Nobody trains here before the first two are done. That is the part most gyms skip.
01
Jeff assesses you
A medical history first: the hip replacement, the shoulder, the side that sits lower than the other. Then a movement assessment. That is the starting point of the programme, not a footnote at the bottom of it.
02
He matches you to a coach
Deliberately, on your health status and your goals, with the programme and the notes handed over. You are never picking a name off a list and hoping.
03
You train, and it gets retested
Packages run a 90-day minimum so there is a retest at the end and a comparison against where you started. Progress is measured here, not assumed.
Book a consultationThe 90 days
Why the package is that long
Ninety days is the shortest honest window. It is long enough for a change in body composition to show up in a measurement rather than in how somebody says they feel, and short enough that nobody is signing away a year.
At the end of it you are re-evaluated against your own first numbers, and the programme is rewritten from what the retest says. Then it runs again.
One client, ninety days
“After 90 days I lost 11 lbs of fat, put on 6lbs of fat-free muscle, lost 3 inches in my waist, and dropped my body fat from 16.4% to 11%”
What you are paying for
Support, tools, and somebody in it with you
- The support
- We believe that all people can achieve fitness and life-transforming goals through strength in numbers. The Power of 2 is accountability, empowerment, motivation and engagement, and the aim is the whole person: fitness goals and life wellness, through a professional prescription and a coach who holds you to it.
- The tools
- The floor was rebuilt around Sorinex five years ago, so the equipment your programme calls for is the equipment that is free when you get to it. Programme design moves between mobility and skill work, strength training, and conditioning, and any of it can be progressed up or down to meet where you actually are.
- The second person
- People do better when somebody else is doing the thinking and the pushing. That is the entire premise of the name. Your coach is there for the last rep, and for the eleven weeks between the assessment and the retest when nobody feels like turning up.
Two people, one session
Bring somebody with you
Two people who train together can share a session and split it. It works, and plenty of people do it, but the floor is not set up around it: the bays are built so that one coach and one client own a station outright. If you want the room's full attention, train on your own.
Who it is for
Everyone, and that is not a sales line
Whether you are just getting started or you want to take your fitness to the next level, personal training is the quickest and most efficient route to your goals. We have clients in their seventies. We have clients who have trained here for seventeen years. The programme is written for the person, so the person does not have to arrive fit enough to deserve it.
What it costs
A package built around your budget
Sessions are bought in packages with a 90-day minimum, so there is a retest at the end of it and something to compare against. Whether you train twice a month, five times a week, or anywhere in between, Jeff will build a package that fits. Rates are moving this autumn, so ask for the current sheet when you book and you will get the real number rather than a stale one off a web page.
Questions
About training
Who should consider personal training?
Everyone. Whether you are just getting started or you want to take your fitness to the next level, personal training is the quickest and most efficient way to reach your goals. Our coaches love to come to the gym and train their clients every day, and they are eager to push you to your limits.
What qualifications do the coaches have?
Every coach holds a certification from an accredited training federation, and we expect them to keep studying biomechanics and exercise physiology. Jeff holds an M.S. in exercise physiology, runs the initial evaluation himself, and writes the exercise prescription your programme is built from.
Do I get to pick my coach?
Jeff assesses every client himself, then matches you to the coach who fits your health status and your goals, and hands over the programme and the notes. Tell us who you would like to work with and we will try, but the match matters more than the name.
How does scheduling work?
After the initial introduction with your personal trainer, you will communicate directly with them to schedule your sessions based on mutual availability.
How many times a week should I train?
That depends on your fitness level, your training history, any injuries, and what you actually enjoy. If you are starting out and you need regular motivation and support, train more often. If you are adding personal training to work you already do on your own, less can be enough.
When will I see results?
You should feel changes almost immediately. Clients who stay consistent usually report better sleep, mood, and energy inside a few weeks. Changes in body composition take longer for some people than for others, but if you keep to your programme and take your coach’s advice, the physical changes become obvious to you and to everybody else.
